This is the first post of the 25-26 school year from Northeast Middle School.  We are happy to welcome back some old families and welcome in some new families.  Please take the time to read all the way through this post as there is a lot of information.  
 

• The first day of school is August 28th.  Students should arrive between 7:45 A.M. and 8:05 A.M.  A student is tardy if they are not in their home room by 8:10.  School is dismissed at 2:45 P.M. on M, T, Th, and F.  Dismissal is at 2:20 P.M. on Wednesday. 
• Team letters will be mailed out on August 11th along with team supply lists.  We have worked for months balancing the teams and classes and we can't take any requests to change teams.  
• 6th Grade Orientation will be held on August 19th from 9:00 A.M. - 10:30 A.M.  6th graders will get a chance to meet their team teachers and tour the building.  More information will be sent out next week.  
• Open House for 7th and 8th grade students will be held on August 26th from 5:00 P.M.-6:30 P.M.  Team teachers and Encore teachers will be on hand and there will be a short presentation in the gym.  More information will be sent out in a couple of weeks.  
• All 7th graders must have a physical on file with the nurse dated any time after 7/1/24 in order to start the school year.  
• Any student interested in playing sports must have a physical no older than 13 months on file in order to be eligible.  
• Construction on the brand new NEMS is ongoing.  The entrance from Stevens Street will remain closed during the 25-26 school year.  All walkers and vehicles must use the Felice Road entrance.

25-26 Supply Lists

With the Stevens Street entrance still closed, we will continue with last year's pattern for arrival and dismissal.  In the morning, all cars and buses will turn into the campus from Felice Road and immediately take a right towards the building.  Students will enter in the doors near the library and the Band room.  Cars and buses will continue down the travel lane and take a left back into the main parking lot to exit to Felice Road.  Parents who have business in the Main Office or the Nurse should skip the right turn and continue down to the front entrance.  

Parents dropping students off or picking students up in the middle of the day should come to the front entrance.

At dismissal time, only buses will take the immediate right and come park next to the library and Band room.  All other traffic will come line up along the front of the building or park in a parking spot to wait for their students.  There is a new turn around near the main entrance for all cars to use to go back to the Felice Road exit.  Please stay alert and follow directions of staff members on duty.
